LLP, Batys Oil Group production, with its headquarters located in the Burlin, was founded in 2014. The refinery expanded in 2019, spending more than $1 billion in total. The refinery used to be able to process 140,000 barrels of condensate per stream day (bpsd) and produce refined goods for export and local markets, including naphtha, reformate, jet fuel, diesel oil, fuel oil, and liquified petroleum gas (LPG). The increase in capacity led to a daily rate of 210,500 barrels per stream day (bpsd).

New LPG/Naphta hydrotreater, isomerization unit, kerosene hydrotreater, and diesel hydrotreator were among the additional processing units added. These facilities make sure that the gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel produced by the refinery can be exported as well as fulfill the growing domestic fuel demand.

With help from specialists from the Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences’ Institute for Problems of Hydrocarbon Processing, the business is updating its selection of catalytic cracking catalysts. The Kazakhstan Institute of Catalysis is responsible for the development of hydro-process catalysts. Scientists in Kazakhstan have already developed catalysts that allow them to hydrotreat middle distillates and generate a sulfur-free product that meets all Euro-5 requirements.

Energy Consumption and Refining

This is the biggest oil refinery renovation project in Kazakhstani history. In accordance with TR TS 013/2017 Technical Regulations, the environmental class K5 motor fuels for the domestic market in Kazakhstan were brought up to 100% production level during the program. Several of the company’s refineries have been producing motor gasoline with improved operational and environmental features, like AI-95-K5 Euro-6 and AI-100-K5, since 2018.

In addition to producing various petroleum products, the refinery also produces motor fuels, aromatics, liquid paraffin, roofing, and insulation. International quality criteria are met by the bitumen, jet fuel, diesel fuel, and roofing materials produced by the refinery. LLP, Batys Oil Group grows its manufacturing facilities every year. To reduce operating costs, increase the quality of petroleum products, and improve industrial and environmental safety, the refinery is developing a tiered process flow diagram innovation strategy.
